Continuing our design relationship with electronic duo Thievery Corporation, the latest package design direction was inspired by the orchestration that accompanies the music. The visual narrative of butterflies moving through the void of space to find lush organic worlds is the collaborative illustration of Matt Curry and Neal Ashby.

For Thievery Corporation’s Versions, hundreds of individual illustrations and photos were stitched together for a visual narrative. Apple took note of the Grammy® nominated design for Best Recording Package, and featured Neal Ashby and Matt Curry on its website.
Mies van der Rohe Rennovation
Library Commission
Ashby Design and Matthew Curry have won the commission to provide artwork for the 12,000 square foot children’s area of the Martin Luther King Library in Washington, DC. The Mies van der Rohe building is undergoing a $229 million rennovation and will be a premiere gathering place in the city. The winning theme: Monster Imagination.
Space
Ashby Design is now in its new space. The interior architecture was done in collaboration with Christy Schlesinger. A labour of love, the entire space was built by hand, including most of the furniture. Please come visit us.
